Theme Installation
ARACHNID themes are supplied as Shopify-compatible ZIP files and can be uploaded directly through your Shopify admin. Follow the steps below before publishing your new theme.
Installing an ARACHNID Shopify theme
Download your theme
After purchasing an ARACHNID theme, download the supplied .zip file and save it somewhere accessible on your computer.
Open your Shopify Themes area
Sign into Shopify and navigate to:
Online Store → ThemesUpload the ZIP
Select Add theme, choose Upload zip file, then select the ARACHNID ZIP you downloaded.
Wait for Shopify to process the theme
Shopify will upload and process the theme. Once complete, it will appear in your theme library.
Preview before publishing
Use Preview to check the theme with your existing products, collections, menus and branding before making it live.
Customise your storefront
Select Customize and configure your logo, colours, typography, sections, navigation and product content through Shopify's standard theme editor.
Publish when ready
Once you have checked the desktop and mobile versions, return to your theme library and publish the ARACHNID theme.
Before you publish
Check your navigation
Themes use the menus configured in Shopify. Confirm your main navigation, footer navigation and nested menu items are correct.
Check your product images
Use consistent product image ratios wherever possible so collection and product pages remain visually consistent.
Check mobile layout
Preview the homepage, collection pages and product pages using Shopify's mobile preview before publishing.
Keep your old theme
Do not delete your current theme immediately. Keep it in your theme library as a fallback.
Installing ARACHNID HERO 01
Download and extract the free section ZIP
Unlike a full Shopify theme, HERO 01 is an individual section. Extract the download and locate:
arachnid-free-hero.liquidOpen Shopify's code editor
Go to:
Online Store → Themes → … → Edit codeCreate a new section
In the Sections folder, create a new section named:
arachnid-free-heroPaste the supplied code
Remove any automatically generated content, paste the full contents of arachnid-free-hero.liquid, then save.
Add the section through the theme editor
Open Customize, select Add section, then choose ARACHNID Free Hero.
Common questions
Do I need to unzip a full ARACHNID theme?
No. Full ARACHNID themes should be uploaded to Shopify as the original ZIP file supplied with your purchase.
Will installing a theme delete my products?
No. Products, collections, customers and orders belong to your Shopify store rather than the individual theme.
Can I preview the theme before publishing it?
Yes. Shopify allows themes in your library to be customised and previewed without replacing your currently published theme.
Can I modify an ARACHNID theme?
Yes. You can customise your licensed copy for the Shopify store covered by your licence.
Can I use one purchase on multiple stores?
No. A standard ARACHNID theme licence covers one live Shopify store. Additional stores require additional licences.
